Services

General Physiotherapy

If you are suffering from pain, Back Pain, shoulder, Knee pain etc this can be debilitating and affect both home and work life. Physiotherapy works for all of these problems.

Pregnancy (MummyMOT Ante/Post natal)

Pregnancy may promote a change in posture, abdominal length or separation (Diastasis) and ligament laxity.

Vaginal or cesarian delivery can all have an effect on your body and return to previous levels of activity. The MummyMOT is designed to pick up these problems and ensure safe return to function and exercise. I am also expert in pelvic girdle pain PGP and SPD during Pregnancy.

Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation

These muscles need to be exercised every day to stay healthy. Your pelvic floor can become weak for many reasons: Pregnancy, Childbirth, Hypermobility, Weight gain, Menopause and numerous other reasons. A specific individually tailored exercise program can improve weakness but if you have a dysfunction then you may need more specialist intervention.

Bladder and Bowel Problems

Bladder or Bowel control problems are common for men and women of all ages. Rushing to the toilet or leaking when you cough, laugh or exercise is not acceptable, research has shown that Pelvic Physiotherapy is cheaper and more effective than medication or surgery in the majority of cases.

Men too

Prostate Cancer is the most common cancer in men with 47,300 diagnosed in the UK. A side effect of prostate cancer is often urinary incontinence.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia, chronic cough, neurological problems, physical inactivity, obesity and age may all contribute to leaking of urine or faeces. It is thought that 11-34% of older men suffer urinary incontinence but are less likely to speak with a healthcare professional about it.

Ergonomics (DSE Assessment)

More people are now home working. Numerous offices closed their doors to employees and over night everybody had to find space at home to work. This has led to some very uncomfortable office set ups. I now complete several virtual Ergonomic assessments a week for large companies and would like to offer this service to individuals in their own homes. Are you sitting comfortably? I have also developed a Specialist Pregnancy DSE Assessment.
